The Diamond State Base Ball Club is Delaware’s amateur 19th Century vintage base ball team.  We serve to demonstrate the spirit and ideals of the National Pastime’s earliest days, before the introduction of professionalism forever changed the game.

Our club’s name, uniforms and the rules by which we play are proudly based upon those used by the original Diamond State BBC, founded in Wilmington, Delaware in 1865, in the wake of the Civil War.  Though the original ball club had a lifespan of only about a decade, it was recognized as the preeminent team in the state during its run.

Diamond State reformed in 2008 after a nearly 135-year absence and played its first match in April 2009.  Our club is a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League and holds membership in the national Vintage Base Ball Association.
