Success at First State Fest

May 24, 2010 – The First State 19th Century Base Ball Festival proved a successful venture for the host Diamond State Base Ball Club, as the team walked away with a 2-1 record for the weekend.

A tough 21-9 loss to the exceptional Waterbury Connors BBC from Connecticut on Saturday was followed up by two wins against familiar clubs from Maryland on Sunday.  The Blue and Black defeated the Excelsior BBC of Arundel (Glen Burnie, MD) in their second straight meeting, 15-6, and then held on to win a close battle against old friends the Fair Play BBC of Talbot County, 7-5.

Diamond State’s record raises to 5-6 for the season.  The Blue and Black travel to Steppingstone Museum in Havre de Grace, MD on June 6 for a twinbill versus the Dauntless BBC.
